Abstract RU 2251779 C2

FIELD: keeping winding temperature of traction electrical machines at reasonable level.

SUBSTANCE: proposed temperature control has axial-flow fan mechanically driven from shaft of power unit incorporating controller or impeller electric drive depending for its operation on power unit shaft speed. Fan impeller has adjustable vanes and vane adjusting mechanism with drive. Temperature control has also traction motor shaft speed, motor current and voltage sensors, temperature and cooling air feed sensors, shaft speed and impeller vane angle-of-turn sensors, as well as microprocessor control system. The latter has modules housing mathematical fan operation models. Each module housing mathematical fan operation model has first, second, and third computing units, first, second, third, and fourth comparison units, main control action signal shaping unit, and timer. Apart from main control action, temperature control generates additional control action signal restricting field voltage of traction generator.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of maintaining desired temperature irrespective of load current and cooling air temperature variations.
