FIELD: improved winding temperature control systems for traction electrical machines including those of traction rolling stock.
SUBSTANCE: proposed system designed for controlling temperature of traction electrical machine windings incorporating cooling aid duct has fan; electrical-machine current and voltage sensors; devices sensing voltage drop across winding under control, electrical-machine shaft speed, fan shaft speed, and cooling air temperature; microprocessor controller incorporating control program with mathematical model of electrical-machine cooling system as temperature control entity enabling computation of both mean and maximal local values of fixed and revolving windings of traction electrical machine. Fan shaft is coupled with shafts of two similar phase-wound rotor induction motors whose stator windings are connected to ac power supply, and rotor windings of induction motors are interconnected in series and connected to rectifier. Connected to rectifier output are semiconductor thermoelectric cooler and winding closing unit; the latter is connected, in its turn, to first input of microprocessor controller. One of induction motors has rotary stator connected to drive and the latter is connected to second output of microprocessor controller. Current and voltage sensors of traction electrical machine, devices sensing voltage drop across winding under control, electrical machine shaft speed, fan shaft speed, and cooling water temperature are connected to microprocessor controller inputs.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of fan drive and operating effectiveness of temperature control system.
