FIELD: manufacture of metallic castings, mainly in horizontal machines for pressure die casting.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of pouring doze of melt metal into pressing cylinder of machine; filling with metal cavities of mold and molding chambers; compressing metal by means of pressing plunger and fixing it in stationary state; providing technological hold time for forming skin of crystallized metal along surface of casting; then applying pressure upon casting due to immersing pressing plunger under crystallized skin into metal inside molding chamber; feeding pressure to hydraulic cylinder by short pulses. Frequency control of pulse modulation is realized according to program by changing time periods of turning-on and off electromagnetic valves. Oscillation motion of plunger excites in metal elastic and inelastic waves for compacting metal and breaking transcrystallite structure.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of castings due to improved efficiency of pressure applying onto metal at crystallization process, enlarged assortment of castings, increased strength of fitting.
