FIELD: foundry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of foundry. A method for manufacturing piston blanks for internal combustion engines from high-strength aluminum alloys with a non-resistive insert for subsequent isothermal stamping includes installing a ni-resist insert in a mold, pouring a measured portion of metal and crimping. A niresist insert with a diameter 2-3 mm greater than the piston diameter is installed in the left part of the mold, after which, due to the increased diameter of the insert, it is fixed relative to the parting plane by closing the left and right parts of the mold by moving the press plate. A funnel and a pouring bowl with a stopper are installed, heated to a temperature of 400°C. A high-strength aluminum alloy melt is poured into the bowl at a temperature of 200 K higher than the crystallization onset temperature, the mold is evacuated, the stopper is undermined, and the melt is fed into the mold at a rate of 1 l/s. The melt is compressed between pressing plungers moving towards each other under a pressure of 400 MPa for 10 s until crystallization is complete, the workpiece is removed and mechanically processed.
EFFECT: obtaining a homogeneous fine-grained metal structure in the entire volume with the necessary adhesion between the non-resistive insert and the material of the piston blank.
