FIELD: electric drives.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device contains circuit connected to terminals of dc supply source formed by series-connected first contactor, thyristor, second contactor, reactor, armature windings N of traction electric motors where N=2 or 4, third contactor, field windings N of traction electric motors, fourth and fifth contactors, respectively. Part of circuit formed by series-connected second contactor, reactor, armature windings N of traction electric motors, third contactor, field windings N of traction electric motors, fourths contactor is shunted by parallel-connected backward-connected first diode and sixth contactor. First contactor is shunted by backward-connected second diode, series-connected thyristor and second contact are shunted by seventh contactor. Thyristor is shunted by circuit of series-connected eighth contactor, resistor shunted by capacitor, and forward-connected third diode.
EFFECT: increased reliability, efficiency, reduced cost of traction electric drive.
