FIELD: textile industry, in particular, manufacture of textile articles.
SUBSTANCE: method of forming creases on knitted articles made from single or double cloth involves knitting article up to portion where creases should be formed; forming creases of random depth, with each second stitch being transferred onto adjacent stitch followed by knitting-through of both stitches before crease forming procedure; forming creases by sequential shifting of needle case and successively connecting paired stitches making creases; when total shift reaches maximum possible value, transferring all stitches of cloth onto single needle case and moving needle case to initial position; providing reverse transfer of transferred stitches and continuing crease forming procedure. Method allows belt articles as well as shoulder articles to be produced, said articles being made without necessity of additional sewing crease forming procedures.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of method, wider range of articles produced by method, and improved quality of articles.
