SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of rigidly securing blank to machine tool attachment; imparting rotation and reciprocation motion to honing head including vibrator mounted with possibility of engaging with holder carrying honing diamond-abrasive beams; imparting to beams radial motion; using beam holder in the form of tore-like elastic envelope along generatrix of which on metallic plates diamond-abrasive beams are fastened; freely putting envelope on housing and limiting it by height at one end by means of disc; at other end fixing envelope by means of nut; supplying compressed air into elastic envelope through axial and cross openings of housing.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy, quality and efficiency of honing due to axial reciprocation motion of honing beams at gradual regulation of frequency and amplitude of their oscillation at operation of machine tool without interruption.
