DIAMOND-ABRASIVE WORKING METHOD AT STATIC-IMPULSE LOADING Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC B24B1/00 B24B33/02 B24B33/08 

FIELD: working by cutting of hard-to-work metals, possibly diamond-abrasive finishing of openings of parts, for example by honing at static-impulse loading of blocks.

SUBSTANCE: method is realized with use of apparatus having housing and block holders carrying diamond-abrasive blocks arranged outside. Apparatus is imparted to lengthwise reciprocation motion and to reverse rotation. Blocks are statically loaded in radial direction and impulse load is applied to them in longitudinal direction. In order to realize it, sleeve with longitudinal grooves for block holders is rigidly secured to housing of apparatus. Block holders arranged in said grooves rest by their inner surfaces upon sine shaped leaf springs. The last are rigidly secured by their one ends to housing of apparatus and their other ends are jointly coupled with ring being part of drive unit for changing outer diameter. Said ring has pins engaging with bayonet grooves formed in housing and inclined relative to lengthwise axis. Ring also has handle passing through groove of sleeve. Apparatus also includes wave-guide with levers acting upon ends of block holders and striker arranged in central lengthwise opening of housing along the same axis as wave-guide. Helical cylindrical compression springs act upon opposite ends of block holder.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, improved accuracy and quality of working low-rigidity blanks of hard-to-work materials and alloys.
