FIELD: radio communications.
SUBSTANCE: mobile terminal has satellite phone and global positioning system receiver, using information concerning position of trace of antenna beam of communications satellite, within reach of which mobile terminal is positioned. By using said information, current invention provides for solving ambiguity, in form of one millisecond, which occurs as a result of length of code repeat, when relative phrase of code can be determined, while absolute phrase of code can not be determined. Test positions are selected for covering area of trace of antenna beam with spaces between test positions, considering indeterminacy, in form of one millisecond. Measured values of pseudo-distance are produced for each test position and used to determine position. Best determined result is selected, for example, on basis of check of self-consistency.
EFFECT: higher speed of operation, higher efficiency.
