HIGH-STRENGTH SOLIDIFIED FORM OF CALCIUM SILICATE Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2253635 C1

FIELD: inorganic compounds technology.

SUBSTANCE: solidified form of calcium silicate contains tobermorite and is characterized by X-ray diffraction pattern on powder, wherein intensity of diffraction peak Ib ascribed to tobermorite plane (220) and minimum diffraction intensity Ia observed within diffraction angle range between the two diffraction peaks ascribed, respectively, to and plane (222) of tobermorite satisfies Ib/Ia ratio at least 3.0. Solidified form is further characterized by differential pore size distribution curve, obtained with the aid of mercury porometry, wherein logarithmic width of pore diameter distribution, as measured at the height equal to 1/4 that of maximum peak in differential pore size distribution curve, amounts to 0.40-1.20. Composite structure of reinforced calcium silicate and methods for manufacture thereof are also disclosed. Solidified form of calcium silicate and composite structure of reinforced calcium silicate according to present invention, in spite of exhibiting apparent specific density between 0.14 and 1.0 (and therefore low weight), provides excellent properties as building material such as high strength, high modulus of elasticity, high resistance to neutralization reaction, high size stability, high compaction strength, and high ratio of compaction strength to modulus of elasticity.

EFFECT: improved building properties of material.
