FIELD: measurement technology; oil and gas industry; aviation, cosmonautics.
SUBSTANCE: working medium is passed through reference section with known hydraulic resistance factor simultaneously working with tested section during transient mode at similar preset initial conditions. Pressure of working medium, speed of change in pressure and pressure difference at inputs of reference and tested sections are measured and hydraulic resistance factor of tested section is calculated. Total hydraulic losses can be measured with high degree of precision in sections of any complexity as by type of used working medium and by value of counter-pressure at output of section. Being simple and reliable the method allows to find changes in hydraulic resistance factor within wide range of change in Reynolds number (in case the section is filled with fluid) or Mach number (in case the section is blown-through with gas). Method also allows reducing cost and time for making experiments.
EFFECT: improved precision of measurement; usage of gaseous state either liquid state working medium.
