FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: one should prepare a sample out of patient's blood serum for infrared spectroscopy due to its drying and suspending with Vaseline oil followed by spectroscopic assay of the sample obtained within 1200-1000 cm-1, then it is necessary to detect peak heights of absorption strips at maximum at 1170; 1165; 1160; 1150 cm-1, then one should calculate the values of the following ratios: the ratio of peak height at maximum being 1170 cm-1 to that of 1150 cm-1; the ratio of peak height at maximum being 1165 cm-1 to that of 1160 cm-1; the ratio of peak height at maximum being 1165 cm-1 to that of 1150 cm-1; and the ratio of peak height at maximum being 1170 cm-1 to that of 1160 cm-1. The presence of neoplasm should be diagnosed at the following ratio values: 1165/1160 ≤ 0.71; 1165/1150 ≤ 0.64; 1170/1160 ≤ 0.32; 1170/1150 ≤ 0.29. The innovation suggested enables to carry out screening survey in patients at during short period of time, detect the presence of cerebral neoplasms despite the degree of malignancy.
