SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used in orthopaedic dentistry. Disclosed is a method for diagnosing precancerous diseases of the oral mucosa, involving examining an oral fluid sample using instrumental examination techniques. That is followed by IR-spectroscopic examination of the oral fluid sample in 1200–1000 cm^-1 spectrum, wherein the oral fluid sample is dried, the dry residue is ground and suspended in Vaseline oil, determining the height of absorption band peaks with peaks of 1165, 1160, 1150, 1140, 1130, 1080, 1040, 1030 cm^-1, calculating a peak height ratio with maximum at 1150 cm^-1 to peak height with maximum at 1165 cm^-1, value of ratio of height of peak with maximum at 1150 cm^-1 to height of peak with maximum at 1080 cm^-1, value of ratio of height of peak with maximum at 1140 cm^-1 to height of peak with maximum at 1160 cm^-1, value of ratio of height of peak with maximum at 1130 cm^-1 to height of peak with maximum at 1165 cm^-1, value of ratio of height of peak with maximum at 1130 cm^-1 to height of peak with maximum at 1040 cm^-1, value of ratio of height of peak with maximum at 1030 cm^-1 to height of peak with maximum at 1080 cm^-1 and according to specified ratios pre-cancer disease of mucous membrane of oral cavity is diagnosed.
