FIELD: estimating effectiveness of energy-releasing element incorporating fissionable material layer.
SUBSTANCE: chosen as directly measured particles simulating energy transfer by fission fragments from fissional material layer are alpha-particles spontaneously released by fissionable material deep within layer and escaping from layer outside at probability μα; model transition function A(μα) including correlation of probabilities of escape of fission fragments and alpha-particles from fissionable materials is calculated; and effectiveness ε is found from expression ε = A(μα)μα, where μα is probability of alpha-particle escape from fissionable layer, as measured in experiment.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure, enhanced efficacy of measurements, ability of checking for effectiveness variations with time.
