FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology for preparing copper sulfate. Method for preparing copper sulfate from sulfate solution involves mixing the parent solution with preliminary heated mother liquor, evaporation of the mixture under vacuum and crystallization at continuous circulation of suspension through the boiling zone. Then part of mother liquid with small crystals is removed from the crystallization zone, mother liquid is heated, returned to the mixing stage, crystal suspension is removed followed by separation of mother liquor by preliminary condensation. Mother liquor with small crystals is removed, and mother liquor is heated and returned to the mixing stage. After preliminary condensation the suspension is fed for final condensation and separation of mother liquor with small crystals fraction and the following feeding the mother liquor to the stage of preliminary condensation. The efflux rate of the solution in circulation is maintained in the range 10-20 m/s. Method provides reducing loss of manufactured copper sulfate in its extraction to the crystalline product and reducing energy consumption in producing copper sulfate of high quality.
