FIELD: analytical methods.
SUBSTANCE: invention is dealing with preparation of modified sorbents widely used for concentrating, separating, and determining various organic and inorganic compounds. One of them, chromoazural C-modified silicic acid xerogel is prepared as follows. Micellar phase of nonionic surfactant containing chromoazural C is first prepared by mixing equal volumes of 10-20% solution of surfactant, preferably mixed poly(ethylene glycol) alkyl ether OP-10, and (2-8)·10-4 M chromoazural C solution, after which resulting mix is heated until solution becomes cloudy and kept at the same temperature for further 15-30 min until separation of phases is completed. Thus obtained micellar phase is applied on silicic acid xerogel, which is then dried to give modified silicic acid xerogel. The latter can be used to prepare indicator powders for determining toxic metal ions.
EFFECT: expanded analytical possibilities.
