FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determining various reducing agents in aqueous solutions using phosphorus-molybdenum heteropolymer compounds. These substances, possessing oxidative properties, react with different reducing agents to form intensively colored reduction products. Multiple methods of spectrophotometrically determining various organic and inorganic reducing agents (ascorbic acid, hydroquinone, pyrocatechin, resorcinol, hydrazine, tin(II)) are based on this reaction. According to invention, phosphorus-molybdenum heteropolymer compounds is added to tetraethoxysilane/ethanol/water mixture in presence of aqueous solution of ammonium hexafluorosilicate and product is dried by microwave radiation. Invention enables preparing porous reagent suitable for foods, pharmaceutical preparations, etc. EFFECT: improved determination accuracy. 3 ex
