FIELD: hydrologic structures and natural disaster prevention.
SUBSTANCE: method involves creating channel extending through lake dam to provide water discharge from the lake. The channel is formed by explosion in mean water when lake water reaches the lowest level. Explosive charge is previously put into lake dam body, including underwater dam part, at positive ambient temperature and explosion is performed at negative ambient temperature.
EFFECT: prevention of mudflows and floods.
