METHOD FOR INTEROPERATIONAL ULTRASONIC ESTIMATION OF STATE AND VIABILITY OF THE PANCREAS AT PANCREATITIS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2257851 C2

FIELD: medicine, in particular, ultrasonic diagnosis, applicable for estimation of the state and viability at pancreatitis.

SUBSTANCE: an ultrasonic a reexamination with 3.5-MHz sensor is performed with determination of the total area of the pancreas. Then, using a 7.5-MHz sensor the areas of affection of the focus of destruction are determined, summed up, and the areas of affection are determined on the basis of it. Then the area of the "safe" part of the pancreas is calculated by formula: S of the "safe" part=S total - S affected. Additionally conducted is a colored mapping of the "safe" part. If the area of affection of the pancreas exceeds 70%, and the area of the "safe" part respectively is less than 30%, the state of the pancreas is estimated as a subtotal-total pancreatitis, if the "safe" part of the pancreas does not contain vessels of 1 sq.cm, it estimated as a nonviable one. If the area of affection makes up respectively 30-49%, the state is estimated as a large-source pancreatitis, the "safe" part contains 2 and more 1-sq.cm vessels, the pancreas is estimated as a viable one. If the area of affection makes up 35-50%, and the area of the "safe" part of the pancreas makes 75% respectively the state is estimated as medium-focus pancreatitis, irrespective of the quantity of vessels in 1 sq.cm the pancreas is estimated as a viable one. If the area of affection makes up less than 35%, and the area of the "safe" part of the pancreas respectively makes up 75, the state is estimated as a small-size pancreas.

EFFECT: provided determination of the required volume of surgical intervention on the pancreas prognosticate the development of complications and optimize the tactics of treatment of the patient.
