FIELD: electrolyzers working under pressure.
SUBSTANCE: proposed electrolyzer has reservoir withstanding high pressure and electrolytic cell unit located in this reservoir and made in form of cell stack. Electrolytic cells have anodes and cathodes. Provision is made for electrolyte circulation system for delivery of anolyte to anodes and catholyte to cathodes. Electrolytic cell unit is enclosed in casing which is hermetic relative to inner part of pressure reservoir. Casing of electrolytic cell unit forms at least two spaces together with pressure reservoir which are separated from each other and are used as part of electrolyte circulating system. One space is part of anolyte circulating line and other space is part of catholyte circulating line.
EFFECT: high purity of gases; increased range of load control.
