FIELD: mechanical engineering; turbines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device and method are designed to provide precise positioning of brush seal relative to rotor. Device has segment of labyrinth seal with slot open in direction of rotor and forming inner projection pointed from rotor, segment of brush seal fitted in slot and provided with outer bead pointed to rotor and covering inner projection of labyrinth seal segment to permit displacement of brush seal segment in radial direction relative to segment of labyrinth seal and rotor, and bead of brush seal segment can displace towards inner projection of labyrinth seal segment and away from seal segment and set screws tightened in threaded holes arranged with spacings in segment of labyrinth seal to place bead on brush seal segment with force onto projection of labyrinth seal segment to prevent radial displacement of brush seal segment relative to segment of labyrinth seal.
EFFECT: improved sealing.
