FIRE-EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: fire-fighting equipment, particularly to move transport means facilitating fire-extinguishment in trailers and railroad cars in closed space.

SUBSTANCE: system to extinguish fire in closed space adapted for vehicle movement and defined by the first longitudinal side wall comprises at least two spraying heads. The first head is installed in the space near the first longitudinal side wall and extends downwards at α1 angle equal to 40-70° to vertical plane. The second spraying head is installed near the second longitudinal side wall defining the space and located opposite to the first one. The second spraying head is directed downwards at α2 angle equal to 40-70° to vertical plane. System includes power source to supply fire-extinguishant to at least two spraying heads. Power source is made as high-pressure source adapted to supply fire-extinguishant under pressure of not less than 15 bars. Fire-extinguishant is aqueous substance. Both spraying heads are installed at 3.2-4 m height over space floor and may spray liquid through β1, β2 angles equal to 45-120°. The spraying heads comprise at least two nozzles and are installed and aimed so that fire-extinguishant spray direction coincides with direction of spraying head installation.

EFFECT: increased fire-extinguishant aerosol penetrability, possibility to suck combustion gas into the aerosol to promote fire-extinguishant evaporation.
