FIELD: shipbuilding; breaking ice cover by resonance method by means of hovercraft.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes running of hovercraft along edge of ice in shallow water at resonance speed at simultaneous measuring of water basin depth in front of ship and under her for correction of resonance speed depending on depth.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of breaking ice cover by resonance method.
