FIELD: textile industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in spinning and weaving looms for checking integrity of thread, yarn, roving. Proposed thread motion sensor on spinning and weaving looms has housing accommodating damping element enclosing thread guide with flange, and piezoelectric transducer rigidly coupled with thread guide. Thread guide and piezoelectric transducer rigidly coupled with thread guide are installed with clearance relative to inner surface of damping element provided with projections in form of dowels or ridges. Said projections provide point or local contacts between thread guide and piezoelectric transducer rigidly coupled with thread guide at one side, and inner surface of damping element at other side.

EFFECT: increased level of useful signal, reduced noise level.
