FIELD: carbon materials.
SUBSTANCE: material is manufactured via continuous or periodical carbonization of cellulose fibrous materials in presence of at least one organosilicon compound selected from methyl- and/or phenyl-substituted cyclic, linear, or branched polyhydroxysiloxanes having average molecular mass between 250 and 10000, preferably between 2500 and 5000.
EFFECT: improved strength characteristics of material.
