FIELD: protection or supervision of pipelines.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises converting the shock waves generating at the moment of local breaking or damaging of the pipeline into electric signals, amplifying, filtering, and digitizing the electric signals, generating high-frequency vibration at one of the ends of the section to be checked at the moment of damaging, manipulating the signal in phase thus generating information signal with phase manipulation, amplifying the signal, emitting the signal, and receiving it at the other end of the section to be checked, decoding the received signal, and analyzing the correlation between two signals to determine the time difference in coming these two waves and location of leakage.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
