FIELD: metallurgy; section rolling.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in steel section hot-rolling mills. Proposed method includes restoration of grooves on cast-iron roll body, charging into stand and deforming of steel strip in passes formed by grooves of adjacent rolls with delivery of cooling water to grooves. According to invention, deformation in passes is carried out with extension coefficient not exceeding 1.35 at temperature of strip within 800 and 1100°C. Cast iron of roll has the following chemical composition, mass %: carbon 2.8-3.5; silicon 1.2-1.7; manganese 0.35-0.70; phosphor 0.04-0.11; sulfur not exceeding 0.16; chromium 0.2-0.5; nickel 2.8-3.6; molybdenum 0.1-0.5; vanadium 0.01-0.03; copper 0.4-0.8; iron - the rest. Invention provides resistance of rolls to cracking, frictional and oxidative wear and microseizing in roll throat.
EFFECT: improved strength of rolls and quality of rolled sections.
