FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and may be used in hot strip rolling at continuous wide-strip rolling mils. Proposed method comprises heating the carbon steel slabs, multipass strip rolling with final pass at strip temperature of 800-950°C at two working rolls. Surface of the body of one of said rolls has alternating lines of holes. Rolling in said final pass is performed with mismatched speed of working rolls and relative reduction of 8-25% while cooling at the last interstand space is performed by feeding water to strip at specific flow rate of 10-80 m3/m2-h. Note here that peripheral speed of working roll with said alternating lines of holes is set to exceed that of mate roll by 0.2-1.8%.
EFFECT: higher durability and quality.
