FIELD: metallurgy, namely bar rolling processes, possibly in mills for hot rolling of steel bars.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating blank; performing its multiple reduction between cast-iron grooved rolls; cooling roll grooves with water and lowering temperature of blank from pass to pass. Blank is heated up to 1150 - 1280°C; in temperature range 1100 - 750°C blank is rolled between rolls made of cast iron of next content, mass %: carbon, 2.8 - 3.8; silicon, 0.9 - 1.3; manganese, 0.4 - 0.7; chrome, 0.1 - 0.4; nickel, 2.5 -4.5; molybdenum, 0.3 - 0.5; vanadium, 0.01 - 0.04, sulfur, no more than 0.10; phosphorus, no more than 0.15; iron, the balance. Invention provides optimization of temperature parameters of rolling process according to content of roll material.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of rolled bars, increased strength of rolls.
