FIELD: metal working.

SUBSTANCE: plasma generator comprises housing (1), protecting nozzle (2) mounted on the housing by means of a threaded connection, and plasma generating nozzle (3) mounted inside housing (1) by means of screw (4). The plasma generating nozzle is insulated from housing (1) by means of bushing (5) and insulators-seals (6) and (7). Screw (4) is screwed in insulator (8). The insulator (8) receives electrode unit (9) provided with autonomous cooling system. Housing (1) has connecting pipes (11) and (12) and radial passages (13) and (14) for supplying and discharging coolant of the system for cooling plasma generating nozzle. The bottom ends of passages (15) and (16) enter groove (18) made in housing (1) that is connected with the bottom section of ring passage (17) arranged on the outer side of plasma generating nozzle (3). Connecting pipe (19) and passages (20) and (21) provided in housing (1) are used for supplying protecting gas under protecting nozzle (2). Screw (4) is provided with connecting pipe (22) and passage (23) for supplying plasma generating gas.
