FIELD: explosive atmospheres such as those in oil refining and chemical plants, coal mines, powder stores, vehicle service stations, and the like.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device has discharge lamp with lamp socket installed inside optically transparent shielding cap on heat-conducting holder which is in thermal contact with solid fixture in the form of flange made of similar material wherein mentioned cap is installed and sealed. Fixture is provided with labyrinth explosion channel providing communication between inner space of cap and surrounding medium and mounted together with holder on cover of lead-in box for device forming transfer chamber where free part of current-carrying conductors is disposed. Starting-and-regulating apparatus is mounted inside lead-in box and connected through mentioned current-carrying conductors passed through sealed holes in holder and lead-in box cover to lamp socket. Lamp-holder-and-socket assembly is made in the form of flanged sleeve installed with slide fit on side surface of intermediate circular member in axial threaded hole of fixture; mentioned member is threaded on periphery and set on mating thread in axial hole of fixture to form threaded labyrinth explosion channel.
EFFECT: enhanced explosion safety, reduced size and mass, improved lighting characteristics.
