SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing 7-quinolinyl-3,5-dihydroxy-6-enoate of the formula (IV):
wherein R represents alkyl group. Method involves reduction of compound represented by the formula (I):
wherein R is given above or compound represented by the formula (II):
wherein R is given above with sodium boron hydride in the presence of boron compound represented by the formula (III): R'OBR''2 wherein R' and R'' represent independently alkyl group followed by treatment of prepared reaction mixture with hydrogen peroxide an aqueous solution in the presence of inorganic base. Treatment is carried out in biphase system using an organic solvent that is separated from water. 7-Quinolinyl-3,5-dihydroxyhept-6-enoate can be useful as an intermediate compound used in synthesis of pharmaceutical agents with high yield and high purity degree. Invention provides the development of simple method for preparing (E)-7-[2-cyclopropyl-4-(4-fluorophenyl)quinoline-3-yl]-3,5-dihydroxyhept-6-enoate that can be used in industry.
