PLUG-AND-SOCKET CONNECTOR Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: electrical engineering; plug-and-socket connection of more than one electric circuits.

SUBSTANCE: proposed connector has plug with pins disposed in flat shroud, socket with jacks disposed in flat shroud, and pin-to-jack positioning device. Plug and socket shrouds are identical in size and configuration. Pins and jacks are made in same row in plane parallel to main external planes of shrouds. Positioning device is made in the form of pin disposed within socket shroud on one end of its line of jacks and jack disposed within plug shroud. Projection is made on each lateral part of each shroud. Projections are arranged symmetrically to center line of shroud in parallel with axes of pins and jacks. Each projection has hole whose axis is perpendicular to main external planes of shroud.

EFFECT: simplified design and enhanced reliability of connector.
