FIELD: tongs with self-adjusted setting suitable for using with one hand.
SUBSTANCE: according to first variant of invention tongs are provided with two legs mutually joined through jointly mounted bolt. Over crossing of legs there is span; under crossing of legs the last have handles. One leg of tongs replaced relative to other leg for changing span value has free cavity in range of legs crossing. Other leg of tongs passes through said cavity or replaced leg may pass through non-replaced leg of tongs. Legs of tongs are preliminarily joined by means of operation member having spring drive and spring for preliminarily tightening span of tongs to opening position. After releasing load of handles, tongs are opened due to automatically spring-loading. At first step of spring drive motion jaws of span are moved one towards other. At second step of their motion pawl of jointly mounted bolt is inserted into fixing toothed section and then it is possible to positively rotate movable jaw of tongs span around said bolt. Spring drive includes spring supported by both legs of tongs. Spring is designed in such a way that drawing legs apart to mutually spaced position and movement of movable leg of tongs to position of maximum opening of span are caused by said spring at rotation of tongs leg. Rotary support of spring is formed at one side on leg of tongs. At said side spring in non-working state adjoins to rotation limiting member provided on leg of tongs. When leg of tongs moves to span closing position after clamping part, spring is released from rotation limiting member after applying effort of jaws to clamped part. According to second variant of invention spring drive of tongs serves simultaneously as operation member; it is formed by spring and it is joined with two portions of spring. One portion of spring is rigid and it is joined to other leg of tongs. Other portion of spring is joined to adjustable leg. Rotation limiting member for rigid portion of spring is formed on other leg.
EFFECT: improved design, enhanced functional possibilities of tongs.
