FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hand tools. Proposed tongs 1 comprise levers 2, 3 intersecting, along their length, in hinge 4, to make interacting work sections 6 on one side of said hinged 4 and handles 5 on the other side of said hinge. Levers 2, 3 are jointed together to rotate relative to each other and have interacting guides 7, 8 made on said levers to allow rotary motion. Axis (A) of rotation of levers 2, 3 is located outside of guides 7, 8 and on the side of work sections. One lever 3 is covered in hinge 4 on its both sides by strapping element 9 rigidly jointed with other lever 2.
EFFECT: better transfer of compressing force.
