FIELD: automotive industry; safety systems.
SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, automobile is equipped with additional automatically extending shock-absorbing bumper located at level of automobile footsteps. In case of emergency situation during lapse of time from beginning of emergency braking to moment of bumping into obstacle, additional bumper is extended towards obstacle and cushions the shock. Moreover, bumper is furnished with air bag commensurable with height of adult and length of bumper. If automobile collides with pedestrian and additional bumper comes in contact with upper or lower extremities of pedestrian, air bag is filled with gas. Pedestrian falls onto hood, thus tilting the air bag which sticks to hood by its middle space. Under action of shock, pressure in middle space rises and gas passes into side spaces, thus increasing their volume. Side spaces, being filled with gas, enclose pedestrian and hold him preventing high falling onto road.
EFFECT: saving of pedestrian and preventing damage to automobile in case of road accident.
