FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive car safety devices. The device that protects the driver and passengers from overloads, the middle part of the car body from deformation during a frontal collision with an obstacle with 25 percent or more overlap, contains sealed shells. The shells are made of elastic material, placed in wheel niches and connected to gas generators. The gas generators have the ability to be triggered by a signal processed by an electronic control unit during a frontal collision into the body of a car with 25 percent or more overlap. The gas generator fills the shells with gas to a shape whose size in the wheel niche is limited by the free space between the surface of the wheel arch and the surface of the tire of the wheel in the static suspension position. The gas-filled shell provides shock damping between the source of the frontal collision, with deformed elements of the bumper, headlight, wing and tire surface of the wheel in the longitudinal direction, the wheel and the middle part of the body in the longitudinal and transverse directions, the wheel and the front part of the body in the vertical direction.
EFFECT: protection of the driver and passengers from overloads at the time of an accident, when falling from a height, from land mine detonation, shelling, protection of the middle part of the car from deformation is achieved.
