FIELD: nuclear power industry; production of sintered pellets from ceramic materials for nuclear fuel including uranium dioxide ones to charge nuclear reactor fuel elements.

SUBSTANCE: proposed computerized bay for manufacturing nuclear fuel pellets has following pieces of equipment: evaporation cell, hydrolyzate, extractor/re-extractor cascade, three-cascade settling reactor, filtering installation, screw feeder, drying-and-calcining kiln, storage bin with screw feeder, reduction furnace, screw refrigerator, mixer, automatic press, sintering furnace, centerless grinder, drying installation, installation for controlling pellets, waste solution tank, process variable point meters, and control boards for respective pieces of equipment. Each piece of equipment is provided with process variable meters and actuating mechanisms interconnected with control boards to organize process control system incorporating process sensor and additional mechanism unit, logic programming unit, and operating station unit. Process sensor and additional mechanism unit is modular design built according to its functions and types of variables under measurement and has module of level, temperature, flow, pressure, and concentration sensors, mentioned variables regulation module, display module, as well as equipment and actuating mechanisms control module. Logic programming unit has central and switching processors, interface module, and input/output modules. Operating station unit has system unit monitors, switching processors, and keyboard; uranium solution tanks are provided, in addition, with their geometric size meters and their input/output pipes are provided, in addition, with uranium solution concentration meters.
