FIELD: ion sources built around plasma accelerator with closed electron drift and narrow acceleration zone.
SUBSTANCE: proposed elongated ion source built around plasma accelerator with closed electron drift and narrow acceleration zone has azimuthally closed channel for ionizing and accelerating working medium formed by walls of external and internal magnetic poles and open at outlet; azimuthally closed anode disposed in magnetic circuit space and positioned along channel to form discharge space together with poles; as well as means disposed in magnetic circuit space and used for producing magnetic field in azimuthally closed channel; magnetic poles are elongated and function to form azimuthally closed channel symmetrically elongated along axis perpendicular to ion acceleration axis so that two parallel elongated ion outlet channels are formed; mentioned means produce homogeneous magnetic field whose inductance vector along entire channel is perpendicular to direction of ion flow being accelerated.
EFFECT: enlarged surface area of long-measuring parts suited to ion-beam treatment with aid of proposed ion source.
