FIELD: plasma technology, electric rocket engines base on plasma accelerator with closed electron drift, technological accelerator employed in vacuum-plasma technology. SUBSTANCE: plasma accelerator with closed electron drift includes at least one cathode-compensator, discharge chamber with external and internal ring-shaped walls forming acceleration channel, magnetic system with magnetomotive force source, magnetic circuit, external and internal magnetic poles forming working interpolar gap with internal region located between ring-shaped walls of discharge chamber and external region situated behind ring-shaped walls, gas distributor and anode positioned in space of discharge chamber. Magnetoconductive plate is so put on external magnetic pole in zone of position of cathode-compensator that at least one magnetoinsulated channel for penetration of electrons from cathode-compensator through magnetic lines of force of external region of working interpolar gap to boundary between internal and external regions of working interpolar gap is formed between plate and external magnetic pole. In compliance with another variant of accelerator magnetic system can be equipped with additional magnetic pole installed with clearance relative to external magnetic pole. Magnetoinsulated channel according to this variant is formed in gap between external and additional magnetic poles. Magnetoinsulated channel can have at least one intermediate outlet for electrons in lateral direction directly into external region of working interpole gap.
