FIELD: plasma technology, electric rocket motors based on plasma accelerator with closed electron drift, technological accelerators employed in processes of vacuum-plasma technology. SUBSTANCE: plasma accelerator with closed electron drift has discharge chamber with outer and inner ring-shaped walls forming acceleration channel, magnetic system with source of magneto-motive force, magnetic circuit, external and internal magnetic poles forming working interpole gap in zone of outer edges of discharge chamber, anode located in space of discharge chamber, hollow gas distributor with conduits feeding working gas into discharge chamber and cathode-compensator. Conduits feeding working gas are arranged in azimuthal direction at acute angle with respect to cross-section of acceleration channel. Conduits feeding working gas into discharge chamber can come in the form of slits formed between body of gas distributor and tabs of metal ring put on gas distributor which are bent at angle with specified azimuthal component. At least three plates alternating with distance rings forming distribution spaces between adjacent plates can be positioned in internal space of gas distributor, transverse to flow of working gas. Each plate can have holes for passage of working gas so arranged that holes in next plate are equidistant with reference to holes of preceding plate and number of holes in each next plate in direction of flow of working gas doubles.
