FIELD: mechanical engineering; methods of deposition of antiwear coatings on cutting tools.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the methods of deposition of antiwear coatings on cutting tools and may be used in a metal working. The method provides for a vacuum-plasma deposition of a multilayer coating. For realization of the method conduct a thermo-mechanical activation of the surface of the underlaying layer by an ionic bombardment method using ions of titanium with power of 1-3 keV at the temperature of 560-580 °C. Then apply a layer of titanium nitride or titanium carbonitride. The technical result of the invention is increased operation life of the cutting tools with an antiwear coating.
EFFECT: the invention ensures increased operation life of the cutting tools with an antiwear coating.
