FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed to control the depth of defects of the “fold” type in products made of fiberglass materials by the ultrasonic method. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the control of the depth of defects of the “fold” type in products made of fiberglass materials is performed by the ultrasonic method, which includes the installation of an emitter and a receiver of ultrasonic vibrations at the same distance L/2 from the axis of the fold, and in the defect-free area of fiberglass based on L, fixing the propagation time of the wave enveloping the fold and the time wave propagation on a section of fiberglass without a fold, while surface and subsurface ultrasonic waves are used to determine the depth of the folds, which excite and receive in the product material using piezoelectric transducers with conical waveguides for focusing the ultrasonic field and the possibility of ensuring the optimal angle of entry of ultrasonic waves into the fiberglass material at a frequency of 0.5 to 2 MHz, while measuring the propagation time of surface or subsurface ultrasonic waves in the defect-free area is carried out twice from both sides of the fold on the same line with measurement of the propagation time of ultrasonic waves on the fold, and the depth of the fold is determined according to a pre-established regression relationship.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of the control of the depth of defects of the “fold” type in products made of fiberglass materials by non-destructive ultrasonic method.
