FIELD: radiochemistry.

SUBSTANCE: the proposed method of 237U isotope production consists in irradiation of the natural or enriched 237U by the gamma quanta flux and in extraction of 237U isotope. Before irradiation a powder-like uranium compound is mixed with a powder-like substance, carrying out the function of 237U recoil nuclei absorption. After irradiation the mixture is disposed into a liquid, selectively dissolving only uranium compound. The solution is withdrawn and the nondissolved powder of the a absorbent substance, containing the 237U recoil nuclei, is separated and washed. The powder is dissolved in an acid in the presence of oxidizer and boric acid and is extracted then from the 237U isotope solution by a radiochemical method.

EFFECT: increasing the specific activity of the powder, containing the 237U isotope, and simplification of 237U isotope separation from 237U isotope.
