SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes generation of voltage pulse in each picture element of chosen line; peak-to-peak voltage of this pulse is higher than discharge origination voltage and its length depends on drift speed of gas ions in discharge gap between electrodes.

EFFECT: enhanced luminous efficiency and operating service life of panel.
