FIELD: agriculture, in particular, primary processing of licorice roots and rootstocks from cork and bast, which may be used as basic medicinal and commercial crude material.
SUBSTANCE: method involves removing mineral and plant contaminants from stocked material; moistening licorice root mass and cutting into 7-15 mm long pieces in natural mineral bischofite brine having density exceeding 1.1 t/m3 at temperature exceeding +5°C; drying ground mass in active heat-carrier layer at temperature of from +55°C to +65°C for of reducing moisture content by up to 12-14%; during drying procedure, providing suction of dusty particles of cork and bast root layers.
EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing keeping of flavanoids in basic material and preventing formation of mold on damaged root portions.
