FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves removing mineral and plant contaminants by wetting root mass to increase initial humidity by 3-12%; grinding roots and rootstocks into pieces of 7-15 mm length; drying in active layer of heat-carrier at temperature of +55 - +65 C for 2-5 hours; reducing humidity to 12-14% and simultaneously removing dusty particles of corky and bast fiber layer of root. Line has root mass accumulator, two contaminant removal units operating in parallel, root mass grinding device, root mass drying device and root and ground particle transportation device. Downstream of drying device, conveyors are positioned for feeding corrugated containers and delivery of ready packed product to weighing devices.
