FIELD: agriculture and agricultural engineering, in particular, processes and means for primary underworking of crude licorice roots and rootstocks.
SUBSTANCE: method involves removing mineral trash and plant contaminants; sorting out standard and non-standard roots and rootstocks from whole mass of raw material; drying at temperature below +65 C; grinding and charging into container; before drying process, removing excessive moisture from root mass by rolling in space between rolls; bringing thickness of roots under rolling process to 1-3 m sizes; before beginning of drying process, grinding depressed roots and rootstocks to 100-500 mm size plates; drying plates to moisture content of 12-14% at active mixing combined with intensive ventilation of heat-carrier; milling dry mass into 0.5-1.5 mm fractions. Line has root mass accumulator, crude root grinding unit, screw conveyor, drum drier, cyclone, conveyors for feeding of corrugated containers and dispensing of ready packaged product onto weighing equipment. Line is further provided with vibratory screen for removal of mineral trash and table for sorting out of standard roots, licorice root and rootstock rolling unit, and roll-type mill for unwinding of dried plates. Licorice root mass rolling unit is furnished with driven rolls arranged in pairs, with gap between rolls reducing in direction of advancement of licorice root mass.
EFFECT: improved quality of licorice raw material.
