FIELD: mining industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to concentration of valuable minerals, in particular magnesium silicate stock, and can be used in manufacture of basic refractories. Process of concentrating magnesium silicate stock, e.g. olivine-containing ores, comprises grinding of ore to fineness 50 mm, washing with simultaneously riddling of ground product into 5 and 1 mm classes, separate gravity separation in heavy suspensions with fineness classes -50+5 and -5+1 mm to give coarse-lump and fine-lump olivinite concentrates, additional grinding to fineness -10 mm of light fraction having fineness -50+5 mm, breakdown of light fractions -5+1 mm and -10 mm in closed cycle to fineness -2 mm, and two-stage wet magnetic separation of broken down product and class -1 mm added to it to produce sungulite and iddingsite concentrates.
EFFECT: increased efficiency in utilizing ore bases and significantly reduced production waste.
