METHOD FOR RESTORATION OF LAMINARIA BROWN ALGAE FIELDS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture, in particular, artificial restoration of laminaria fields in habitual growing sites.

SUBSTANCE: method involves withdrawing from natural fields algae of parent thallus with maximally developed soporiferous tissue; before fastening of thallus on bottom, providing stimulation of selected parent thallus; binding stimulated parent thallus into bundles, attaching to weights and placing on the bottom of water areas to be restored, with space of 4-5 m between said bundles. Transportation of parent thallus material is carried out for time period not in the excess of 14 hours in piles covered with sackcloth or tarpaulin. Stimulation of parent thallus is provided by slightly drying thereof. One bundle of stimulated algae comprises 2-3 algae, and stimulated parent thallus is placed on water area bottom to be restored during 2-4 hours. Algae are placed once onto immovable substrate during period of from middle of September to first decade of October, at water temperature of from 14 C to 10 C, and algae are placed multiple times on movable pebble ground in 3-4 days on one and the same ground during time period of from beginning of September to end of November at water temperature of from 18 C to 14 C.

EFFECT: increased stock of laminaria by restoring habitual fields thereof and reduced expenses for restoration of laminaria fields.
